B.S. Biological Sciences, Florida State University
M.Ed Educational Administration, Concordia University
I am currently in my 8th year as an educator and 5th year as a flipped educator in Round Rock ISD located in the Austin, TX area. I taught high school Chemistry for 5 years and recently switched to Biology for the past 3 years. Over the past 3-4 years, I have integrated many gamification elements into my flipped class with great success. I have delivered professional development at my own campus and district level, and have spoken at several conferences in the states of Texas, Alaska, and New Jersey. The topics I have shared include flipped learning, gamification, and my own hybrid of “gami-flipping”. In addition to teaching, I am the assistant tennis coach at Westwood High School and thoroughly enjoy coaching a sport I have played for 25 years.
