I have been a lecturer in the General and Allied Health program at TAFE SA (VET) for 7 years or more and have also worked for 30 years as an occupational therapist. I teach mainly in the Cert IV Allied Health Assistance program. For the units of competency I teach, I use the online classroom (Moodle platform) as ‘preparatory’ or formative learning before students attend a practical/activity based workshop, usually 2 days, before they complete a placement in the workplace. Some of this is already flipped, students have been able to ask questions, assessment has included projects and I have sought student feedback, so now I am hoping to formalise some of this and recognise the ‘flipped learning’ part in order to improve my teaching but also to be able to better share with my team. I am an enthusiast of e-learning methodologies and a member of our digital learning network.
