I am beginning my 20th year of teaching Regents Chemistry. Before teaching I worked for three years as a curriculum coordinator for a company called Science Kit. I teach in New York State, in a small district, Tonawanda City School District. I am the science department chairperson and I am an Erie Community College Adjunct Professor and teach University Chemistry I at my high school. Most recently I taught a 6th grade STEM enrichment class where I facilitated learning in the following four areas; robotics, coding, augmented reality and 3D printing.
I have a BA in Secondary Education Chemistry from SUNY Oswego and a MS degree in Science Education from the University at Buffalo. I have been working as an Educational Specialist for NYSED since 2009.
I belong to a chemistry teacher share group, WNY Chemshare, that meets monthly and I have submitted a proposal for sharing my flipped classroom experiences at a regional NYSCATE mini conference in the fall.
