Matthew Smith
I received my B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University. After graduation I went to Taiwan and taught English as a second language to Chinese students aged two to ten for five years. Upon returning to the US, I began working as an archaeologist for the next 15 years. I began doing field work, but soon started drawing field maps and doing GIS using AutoCAD and ArcGIS. During this time I also was a crew chief and worked with surveying equipment. In 2015 I changed careers and became an English language Arts teacher at Mesa View Middle School in Farmington, NM. I am just beginning my third year of teaching (2017), and although I am still learning so much in my new career, I am very excited to begin flipping my classes.
