BIODATA OF MUSTAFA MAS’OOD
Mustafa Mas’ood, the Principal of New Horizons College Minna, is a highly motivated and versatile individual with a passion for hard work. He has over 18 years working experience in Education( particularly the education of young people) including a broad variety of other fields.
His working experience include: leather processing; auditing; rural development intervention programmes; coaching of students in athletics and volleyball; counselling of students; teaching of Islamic Perspectives, World History and Train-the-Trainers in Dialogue and Peaceful Co-existence; administration of boarding house and schools.
Position held include: Leather skins sales officer; Audit trainee; Admin and advocacy officer; physical education teacher; football coach; volleyball coach; sports director; Pioneer teacher of Islamic Perspectives and World History; patron of leadership club, Literary and debating club, boarding house Manager, Vice-Principal and ( currently) Principal.
As an individual dedicated to lifelong learning since after graduating with Bachelor of Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University Zaira, he has obtained a diploma in computer science from O.A.U Ife, a postgraduate diploma in computer science from F.U.T Minna, Masters in education administration and planning from University of Calabar. He has also attended several educational workshops and conferences in Germany, China, United Kingdom, Ghana and in Nigeria; additionally, he has also participated in an online programs with the Harvard Post-Graduate School of Education and Coursera. Over several summers, he has attended courses at the Principals Training centre for International school leadership in Croydon, UK, from where he finally bagged a certificate in International School Leadership.
His hobbies include: Hill climbing, martial arts (holds a Black belt in Karate), tennis, football, volleyball, chess, studying ancient civilizations, travelling and working with children.
He is married and blessed with children.
