I started teaching in 1995 as a middle school language arts teacher in a block scheduling format. Then I earned my master’s degree in Instructional Technology and changed jobs to become a Technology Coordinator 1/2 time and 1/2 English teacher in a smaller district. There I started the second laptop initiative in the state of Nebraska (2006). I realized how much fun teaching can be with technology and information so readily available in the students’ hands that I wanted to get back into teaching full-time. Now that I have transitioned to a summer Tech Coordinator and a school year English teacher full-time, I am enjoying the classroom so much more. I was awarded Apple Distinguished Educator in 2009 and 2010. I was also awarded an Apple Distinguished Classroom in 2010 and 2011.
