Back to school season is in full swing and I’m sure most of you are busy helping your kids to prepare for the new school year. I have been traveling throughout the country over the summer and have visited with a number of school districts to talk about new technologies in the classroom and strategies for implementing flipped classrooms successfully. As back to school and fall is upon us, the furthest thing from my mind is 2014, specifically March 3, 2014, but I wanted to share an exciting news regarding SXSWedu, the highly anticipated education technology conference that takes place in Austin, TX.
I’m bringing this up now because I need your help for a very good reason! I have been invited to be a moderator of an exciting SXSWedu panel session opportunity. The session is called, “Flip It, Flip It Good”, a paraphrased reference to the DEVO hit and nod to the music and arts heritage of SXSW! I will be joining Silverback Learning Solutions and Gooru, two progressive edtech companies to watch as they share a similar mission of improving achievement for every student in every classroom across the America. Their mission, passion, and the results they are generating compelled me to accept their invitation to moderate the session at SXSWedu 2014.
SXSWedu Session Snap Shot – We need your vote!
I will be joining our other session members, Dr. Jim Lewis, CEO, Silverback Learning Solutions and Prasad Ram, CEO, Gooru and together we will share emerging best practices in personalized learning, “flipping the classroom”, and mobile technology in the evolving K-12 classroom. We have other things up our sleeves for the session, which we will announce shortly so please stay tuned for further announcements over the next week before the voting deadline!
