Professional Background: I have been an educator for over twenty years. Currently, I am a Program Specialist in the 21st Century Learning Division in Washoe County School District, NV. Prior to this position, I taught elementary and middle school for over ten years and supported novice teachers as a full-time mentor for three years. Since 2009, I have been helping teachers learn how to make changes in their teaching practice to incorporate 21st Century skills and effective use of technology. I facilitate several online and blended professional learning courses including 21st Century Learning Leaders Network, 21st Century Educator Badge Program: Explorer (Camp 21), Practitioner, and Leader Badge. I am the district administrator of the MOODLE and Canvas learning management systems. I sit on the Board of Directors for CUE-NV (Computer Using Educators of Nevada) and e4e NV (eLearning for Educators, Nevada). I advocate for education reform through the ISTE Advocacy network/ETAN. I was also a committee member for the Nevada Ready 21 project, and I am a K-12 Ambassador for the New Media Consortium.
