So many of today’s tools require robust infrastructure that centers on bandwidth. My experience as a technology director is that there is never enough bandwidth.
As you evaluate tools, ask: How much bandwidth will this tool require? Do I have enough bandwidth? If you don’t have enough, maybe you shouldn’t choose that tool. Or, a more appropriate option would be for you to invest the money to increase your bandwidth. Bandwidth alone is not enough when building a reliable infrastructure, as you also need to factor in the costs of additional wires, switches, and access points.
Make sure that as you build out your infrastructure you set it up so that it is easier to upgrade. Do this because you know that in two years you will be upgrading your bandwidth again.
